Lotus Domino Designer Wiki, Remote Redbook Residency for Lotus Notes/Domino 8.5.1, and why you should care!
10/19/2009 06:54 AM by Chris Toohey
Today we begin the Best Practices for Building Web Applications for Domino
8.5(.1) Remote Redbook Residency... and I'm a little more than excited with not
only the team that we've managed to assemble, but also the content that we are
looking to cover in our 8 week remote residency. I'm excited by the prospect of
creating content for both the seasoned Lotus developer as well developers new
to the platform.
With IBM Lotus Domino Designer now free as of release 8.5.1 - the most solid and feature-rich release of Domino Designer to date - it's more important than ever to create solid documentation and ramp-up materials for those new to the platform. The good thing is that IBM gets it! New articles, redbook wiki content, and various incentives for knowledge contribution have been put in place to strengthen existing knowledge of the platform as well as cultivate these new, eager developers.
So what's on the agenda for this residency?
We're going to XPage-enable the standard IBM Lotus Domino Document Library Template, and once completed, publish the template on OpenNTF.org!
We've got a lot of content to create over these next 8 weeks, but I'll keep those interested updated (read: I'll blog about it here and assume you're interested...).
If there's anything you think we should absolutely cover, please let me know either via the comments to this post or via email (should you prefer your communication offline) - I'll do my best to make sure that all requests are voiced and considered for inclusion in the residency scope and outline.
